Therapeutic Behavioral Support Aide for after school program

Elwyn is seeking a motivated and energetic person to fulfill the role of Therapeutic Behavioral Support Aide in our Children's Behavioral Health program at the Smith Hall location on our Media Campus.

 In this position you will provide direct support for an assigned group of children with autism, communication disorders and emotional behavioral disorders in the After School and T-Camp programs. Under the direction of Clinical Supervisor and Behavioral Health Lead Staff, you will assist with children's activity/therapy groups and administer treatment protocols which will include positive behavioral supports.

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of Program Supervisor and Behavioral Health Professionals, will assist with children's activity/therapy groups and administer treatment protocols which will include positive behavioral supports.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain a caseload of up to three (3) children
  • Complete daily progress notes
  • Implement the behavior protocols of caseload
  • Follow direction of supervisor, Behavioral Health Professional, and Behavioral Health Worker relative to groups which they assist
  • Assist children to participate in community activities and events
  • Modify and tailor activities to meet individual and group needs
  • Support programmatic strategic planning
  • Maintain effective communication and provide information pertinent to the overall functioning of the Summer Therapeutic Activities Program (STAP) and Therapeutic Socialization Program (TSP) programs and services
  • Demonstrate competencies in collaborative consultation
  • Perform other duties as assigned

DIRECT REPORTS: None

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
  • Associate's degree or at least 60 credits toward a Bachelor's Degree in related Human Services field
  • One year experience working with children and/or adolescents preferred
  • Experience with Autism preferred
  • Valid driver's license in state of residence
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in groups
  • Basic computer skills

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
